Cross country trekking!

The trip from Madison to Seattle was a lot of fun. I discovered that although eastern South Dakota, eastern Washington, and Wyoming are bleak at best, western South Dakota and western Montana are quite beautiful. I stopped to marvel at the Badlands for quite a while as that was truly and awe inspiring site; I'm glad that I got off the interstate to stop and appreciate it from within the park. I got to see my first wild antelope, wild buffalo, and golden eagle, which was pretty neat. I also got to appreciate the little things, such as how even with a full load on a steep incline in mountain air, Sasha accelerates just fine, even when she was already at 90 mph. (Whee!) I'm not sure the speed demon in me was sated, but it was indeed well fed.

My apologies to everyone that I didn't see before leaving town, I had hoped to perhaps make a gathering occur before becoming westward bound, but the culling and packing all took far more time than I had expected. i was a bit torqued over the fact that just before the end fo the business day on the 27th, the movers said they would be at my place between 8-9 AM the next day and heading straight out to Seattle from there, so although I had hoped to make it to the Inferno that evening as a goodbye (after some calls to let people know that I could be found there), I spent it doing the wrap-up packing and cleaning, only to find out that the movers screwed up.

I've been having some words with the movers over that; suffice it to say that I left many hours after I planned to, and although my things are no longer in my apartment, they haven't left Wisconsin yet either. I'm expecting them to arrive in just under a week, which wouldn't have been a big deal had I not been expecting them to be here by now.

Seattle, from Gasworks Park

Here I am in Seattle, the weather is sunny, breezy, and in the low eighties, the new house is great, and I am with Jillian. It's all good.

I am glad to hear that you both are in the same geographic location. It's too bad it's soo far away.

Well, we are always up for recruiting Madisonites for a westward migration!   : )
I hope life is treating you and Beth well; from the looks of your last post, it has!
